If there was no Virgin Mary in our collective mythological library this woman probably would have seen the sphinx, Emperor Palpatine, or a snuggy fanatic. But there is a Virgin Mary in human superstition and it’s no coincidence that the woman in question happens to be Catholic and imagining the Mother of Jesus.
